Event Program:Â Event Program
The second annual West Coast Vascular and Interventional symposium is open to all medical students, residents/fellows, undergraduate students, and professionals who are interested. This is a two day clinically based vascular and interventional radiology (VIR) symposium, which will introduce trainees and participants to the newest specialty in medicine (VIR, minimally invasive surgery), covering clinical management, fundamental procedures, cases, and techniques. The core curriculum, on Saturday, is designed to provide an overview of VIR, and will include a program director and resident panel with Q&A sessions. All sessions are designed to be interactive, with an active Q&A session - the more questions asked, the more everyone learns!
Our Device/Vendor Breakout will feature multiple vendors, with devices such as Endovascular Arteriovenous Fistula creation, biliary endoscopy, arterial/aortic stent grafts, deep venous arterialization, mechanical thrombectomy, and atherectomy among others.
Saturday evening will feature meet and greet/happy hour, where medical students can meet VIR attendings and VIR residents.
Â
Sunday will begin with an International Symposium, featuring international speakers. This will be followed by trainee education, an introduction to private practice and OBL practice environments, and a research panel. There will also be a career breakout/advice small group discussion for more advanced trainees.
